Getting value and insight from big data is a major goal for most businesses in 2014. But to analyse such large volumes of data requires vast computing power, which is where Bigstep identified a real opportunity. Bigstep is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, that allows the crunching of big data at high speeds, paying pennies per hour.

A highly technical proposition, Rise PR initially devised a messaging platform for Bigstep that conveyed the business benefits of its technology and embarked on a campaign to ensure industry analysts were briefed on how Bigstep worked. This involved undertaking 15+ analyst briefings, including every major analyst house and resulting in profile pieces published by Forrester and Ovum.

This momentum was carried into the press launch, with widespread coverage across UK technology media. Building on this further, Rise PR created on-going content for the Bigstep blog and continued its media relations programme, resulting in a major piece in Forbes and Bigstep being named Newcomer of the Year at the UK Cloud Awards 2014 all building credibility for the technology start-up as it looked to compete with Rackspace and AWS.
