In Q1 2024, Ascension VC reached a first close of £17M of its new Tech4Good £50m pre-seed fund, AFIII. It’s a fund aimed at startups using tech to drive societal change – essentially those that are trying to make the world a better place. We love to work with purpose-driven companies so were especially keen to raise awareness of this fund. We did this via a traditional but maximum impact media relations campaign, using the fund press release to secure news and profile interviews to go a bit deeper.
The Results
Investment PR and the closing of funds can be hard to navigate, juggling some media’s need for exclusivity with the desire for broader exposure. We decided to forego exclusives for this, believing it was significant enough to generate wider awareness. And it did – we secured fantastic coverage for the fund, including Tech.eu and Sifted, two of the biggest titles covering the startup and VC ecosystem.
